Access
A Yorkshire Wildlife Trust nature reserve, open to the public, with permissive footpaths. Access from the road at the south east end of Upper Dunsforth.
Terrain
Much of the reserve is extremely wet and boggy. A boardwalk runs through the wet woodland. Very limited access for wheelchair users.
Habitat:
About the location
The alder Carr has a good selection of wet woodland flowers including Bay Willow. The meadows have wildflowers typical of unimproved grassland, including Yellow Rattle, Common Knapweed and Ragged Robin.
The site is also good for woodland and farmland birds.
